I do wish we could go this year.
We can't.
There's a lot of things I'm wishing for this October, that I didn't dream I would be wishing for last October.
I wish my husband could find a job.
I wish I could find a job, if that would help.
I wish we could sell the house we don't want.
I wish we could keep the house we want.
I wish we could have another baby.
I wish I could go to the mall and buy a new outfit.
I wish some of my old outfits would fit.
Wishes can be dangerous things sometimes. Sometimes they get you focusing on what you want instead of what you have.
So, I'm trying to remember last year's trip to the beach, when I still had a "baby" instead of a full-fledged boy. It's so fleeting, this childhood thing.
I wish I would remember that more.

There with you, friend. Two Octobers ago, things were much more optimistic for us, too. On we go.
oh sister, that made me sad.
then I thought, Grandma would say, "If wishes were horses than beggar's would ride..." And I thought how annoying that would be to hear... but also thought it would remind you that you still have two sets of Grands that are alive and kicking, a sister that loves you enough to quote Grandma in your comments, and a family that is beyond description.
You are well loved. God will carry you through, and whether it seems likely right now or not, the truth is - the other side of this is better than your biggest wishes. He is faithful.
I love you kiddo, if wishes could make everything wonderful it would be already. We can never understand the curve balls that come out way, but He knows the plan and He will see you through!
Hey there hun..
Just found your blog by chance and see you have already found mine!! I feel so honoured that you have added mine to your faves..you made my day!!
Things are pretty tough this side of the world too...a couple of years ago I was having very similar thoughts..but looking back the things that got me through those times are a) Positive thinking and Counting my blessings b) seeing the little things and what they are really worth....their weight in gold hun.
next october you might be looking back on this post with a very different view point!
You are very talented and creative and I'm now off to have a 'nosey' through your blog...I've certainly enjoyed what I've read so far!!
I'll be thinking positive for you xx
